Controversy, injuries, a restart and wins by two of our region's International athletes, this year's Heaton Harriers Memorial 10k certainly wasn't without incident!

Winner Ross Floyd Ross Floyd and Aly Dixon were the winners of the very first Tyne Bridge, Bridges of the Tyne 5 mile Road Race along Newcastle Quayside. It was a narrow victory for Floyd as he held off the challenge of the host club's Steve Cairns, winner of last week's Tynedale 10k, by just 6 seconds to win in a time of 25.55. Dixon's victory was a lot more comfortable, winning by a huge 3 and a half minutes from unattached athlete Louise Rogers. |
